Rice Lake Utilities participates in the State of Wisconsin Public Benefits Program. Fees are collected from electric customers to be used in funding the low-income and demand side management segments of that program. The Rice Lake Utilities Commission has chosen to manage the funds locally operating a “Commitment to Community” program, which keeps the funds in our community for use by our customers. Currently, Rice Lake Utilities works with Barron County Human Services and Westcap to make sure that the appropriate recipients in the City of Rice Lake get available energy assistance and weatherization funds. Rice Lake Utilities personnel with the assistance of Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy, administers energy conservation incentive programs for all of Rice Lake Utilities customers. For more information, the utilities can be contacted at 715-234-7004 or through our web site at www.ricelakeutilities.com
