Red Cedar Development is a volunteer organization made up of business professionals in Rice Lake with the goal of increasing the number of industrial related employment opportunities in the City of Rice Lake.

• Identify locations for City owned industrial parks and negotiating purchase of lands from property owners.
• Construction and ownership of spec buildings for short term lease to a specific business or to attract a new business to the city.
• Act as an advocate for local industry in dealings with the City relating to business retention, expansion or issues relation to city services.
• Independently, or in cooperation with other groups, market Rice Lake to prospective industries.
• Court and assist prospects considering Rice Lake as a business location.
• Act as the City's agent in the sale of City owned industrial park property.
• Contract for a consulting Marketing Director for the City of Rice Lake funded by the City and Rice Lake Utilities.

Several of Rice Lake’s current industries were products of Red Cedar’s efforts in recruiting as smaller incubator businesses and now are the foundation of Rice Lake’s strong diverse economy.
